Accounting Specialist

Albany, NY

Fusco Personnel is actively recruiting for an Accounting Specialist to join our well-respected client in the Capital Region area. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity to join a well-respected organization! 

The ideal candidate will manage the full accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections process, including weekly vendor payments, daily customer invoicing, payment applications, and collection activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including vendor invoices, client billings, and payment approvals.
• Prepare and distribute monthly client invoices through email, mail, and client portals.
• Reconcile AP/AR accounts, outstanding balances, and financial records to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain accurate account registers, ledgers, and journals to ensure transactions are accurate and consistent.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with operations and sales teams.
• Monitor payment deadlines, follow up on overdue accounts, and support collection efforts.
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Set up and maintain vendor and customer accounts.
• Identify and recommend improvements to the billing and vendor payment processes.
• Generating reports and working with the accounting manager and controller.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience in similar role
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Experience working with ERP systems (WinTeam a plus)

Salary Range:

$28.00-$30.00/hour (based on experience)
