PROGRAM OVERSIGHT, TEACHING AND ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
OF
INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Program Director duties will be consistent with ACGME accreditation requirements. The Program Director will have academic faculty appointment through the affiliate medical school. The type of such appointment depends on the experience and academic qualifications including research and scholarly activities.

INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY
Under the direction of the DVP/DIO VP Medical Education (RVP), the Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the Residency Program. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such. The Program Director is expected to support integration of the Internal Medicine Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the IM Residency Program (“IM Program ”). The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such. The Program Director is expected to support integration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education.
Interested candidates must have three to five years of Internal Medicine post residency clinical experience as well as core faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency program. A minimum of 3 years of GME teaching/administrative experience as Program Director or Associate Program Director is also required. Qualified candidates will have excellent communication skills, active involvement in research and scholarship (publications, presentations, etc.), and mentorship experience of residents and students in scholarship and development of scholarship programs. Inpatient and administrative experience is preferred.
